St John Fisher Catholic High School

  • The 7 tenderers were short listed to three (including the incumbent) through an extensive evaluation process. These three companies were visited in action and presented to a school panel; consisting the Head, a Governor, students and the Business Manager.
  • The new contract is fixed for three years so the school can budget with confidence. It includes many new service innovations and has saved the school over £15K per year on the previous contract, which the school intends to invest back into the catering service.

F&C Investments Ltd.

  • A significant financial rebate and an extended contract with on-going financial savings on the London contract with the same supplier
  • A significant financial saving on the Edinburgh contract with a new supplier
  • Both contracts successfully operational

Warwick University Students Union

  • All the new service areas were delivered and commissioned as per the designs, specifications and on time.
  • Over £150K was saved on the original designs.
  • The first area became operational in September 2009 and has so far increased sales by 400% on previous trading.

Writhlington School

  • Successfully moved from poor LEA catering service to in-house.
  • Retained all staff.
  • Increased sales significantly through improved fresh offer and an innovative menu at a lower tariff.

Mitie PFI Ltd. PFI Contract at Newbury College

  • Service development plan implementation
  • Customer uptake increased
  • Service moving from a financial subsidy to break even
  • Increased College sponsorship

West Park School

  • £16,000 subsidy reduction per year for the remaining two years of the existing contract.
  • Introduction of a monthly, termly and annual financial reporting process.
  • Provided the school with three quotations for cashless systems from three credible, referenced companies.

Waygood

In the end, as a result of the very historic nature of the building and the extreme pressure on the overall budget, the Waygood Board decided to postpone the café bar development to concentrate resources and budgets on their core development of the required offices and studios first.

National Council for Voluntary Organisations

  • The NCVO has implemented the service improvements recommended as part of the report and has decided to remain in-house.
  • Review Consultancy is continuing its support of the NCVO through helping it develop a new in-house service, supporting restructuring and recruitment, improving suppliers and product quality and overall service levels.

Hindhead Golf Club

  • Over £25K savings made on the equipment supply
  • Implementation of the new franchise service contract
  • Moving the service from circa £10K pa cost to nil in the first year and profit in subsequent years
  • Increased services, quality and member participation

Harrow High Schools Catering Consortium

  • All schools remained as a consortium to sub-contract to one very experienced company.
  • Standards of catering has substantially improved.
  • Individual school development plans with contractor investment.
  • Construction of an incentivised subsidy reduction scheme based on increasing uptakes.
  • Introduction of a consortium wide cashless system.
